IFcic operates as a focal point for Business Links, Enterprise Gateways, Government offices and other brokerage organisations wishing to connect individuals wanting to start-up a business to a suitable Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) (link to CDFI Members) or fund provider. CDFIs provide micro enterprise loans or other appropriate loan services to individuals who meet the CDFI funding criteria.

Through CDFIs individuals who are endeavouring to improve their lives can gain business ready skills, funding and business resources to secure or create sustainable, productive employment.

IFcic is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which does not seek to make a profit and sits between a charity structure and a limited company. CICs aim to improve the lives of individuals and benefit the community at large.
